Science Has Spoken: Grass-fed Butter Eaters Have Fewer Heart Attacks

In the past, people used to choose margarine instead of butter, because at that time, butter had a very bad reputation in the healthy diets. Butter is actually made up of fat, but it has numerous health benefits to our body. If the butter is made from grass-fed cows, it becomes healthier than most of the products we consume daily. Opposite of butter, margarine is made from vegetable oils. So which one is better?

Can butter prevent us from cardiovascular system and how does affect the health?

When we say healthy butter, we mean about his substances like omega 3 fatty acids and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). If the cows are fed with grass, in that case their milk contains higher levels of omega 3 fatty acids and CLA. Many studies show that omega 3 fatty acids can improve heart health, higher levels of cholesterol in blood and can prevent hyperlipidemia, because they are cardio protective. Another fact that is very interesting, is that grass fed cow’s milk has more CLA than normal milk. (about six time more than normal one)

Few studies form 2010 and 2014 show that saturated fat is not bad for your health, because there is no connection between them.

Two studies from 2009 and 2010 show that the most important factor is actually the location.  The above mentioned studies about cardiovascular health, used example from Australia and Sweden. These two countries have the best locations for grass feed diets. The final product of these studies show that in places like Sweden and Australia, where cows are grass fed, the dairy products are healthier than the others, and have many heart and health benefits.

So, next time you buy butter, check the front label and be sure that you consume grass fed cows butter.
