Naturally Soothing Sunburn Treatment!

By  |

Summer is here and the weather is hot. We all have plans to sunbathe and relax under the sun somewhere on a beach.

We have to protect ourselves from sunburning. The first thing that comes on you mind is sun protection lotion or cream. But do they always work the best? Very often we get sunburn even when we have protection applied on us. That should we do in situations like this?

Natural Home Remedy for Sunburn Skin:

You need:

  • 5 bags of green tea
  • 3 cups of fresh mint leaves
  • 1 quart of water
  • Clean soft cloth or cotton pads

Directions

First you should boil water. Then prepare the green tea (remove the tags and strings) and mint leaves (wash the leaves with cold water). Now, put the mint leaves and the green tea to a pan and pour the boiling water over and cover with a lid. Let it sit for about an hour. Next step is to strain and chill.

Soak the cotton pads in the liquid and apply directly on your sunburn skin.

Note: This home remedy can be prepared with black tea instead of green tea. Green tea and black tea contain theobromine and tannic acid, so it is good for pain relief and healing damaged skin.
